Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American TV chef who is a popular personality. She also was an instructor for the Institute of Culinary Education. She is the host of Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also co-hosting Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell's Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant chef is a hit with her signature spikey blonde locks and pump up appearance, offers easy techniques any person can master. Chef Burrell has also worked at several of the most prestigious restaurants within New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy and competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in the upstate of New York, Chef Burrell discovered a love for cooking and eating at an early age. She pursued her passion for food and restaurant by enroling at The Culinary Institute of America following her graduation in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing experience for me. I was unable to learn enough, didn't accomplish enough, and I couldn't put in the effort enough. After graduating, Burrell spent one year studying in the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at Umbria's La Taverna del Lupo as well as Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, which is a Michelin-starred establishment. The chef gained an understanding of Italian food and culture during her stay in Italy, which has influenced her style of cooking. Burrell is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that helps brighten the lives of children who are struggling. Additionally, she is an Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation celebrity advocate where she raises awareness about the condition of children with diabetes. As a speaker, Burrell makes trips across the country to share her passion for food and her culinary career. Anne declared that she felt fortunate to be able to share her true passion with others.
