Kolber is a native of Pennsylvania, received her master's degree at the University of Miami. Kolber's career began working in New York City as a CBS Sports video coordinator. She was awarded a Sports Emmy while working for WTVJ-TV Miami. She has also worked as an anchor for WPLG-TV Miami as well as WPEC-TV West Palm Beach. In 1993, she joined ESPN and was chosen to be one of the first anchors of ESPN2 when it was introduced in the year 1993. She remained at ESPN2 until Fox Sports hired her.
