Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani and Peruvian Muay Thai fighter and mixed martial artist currently competing with the Flyweight Division of the UFC. She is also the elder sister of an earlier UFC Flyweight champ and co- UFC fighter Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko first began combat sports as a Muay Thai Kickboxer. Shevchenko made her debut at the IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals via a majority vote. Antonina was awarded an award of Silver in 2007 and a Bronze Medal in 2008, a Golden medal in 2011, in the IFMA 2016 Amateure Muay Tha World Champion. Antonia's professional debut came in 2003. In 2012 she won her the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship, in 2016, she won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016 the WMC World Championships. Antonina was most recently seen battling Isa TIDBLAD Keskikangas at The Phoenix Fighting Championship. She was able to win by a unanimous decision. Antonina Shevchenko made her professional MMA record at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan in a fight with Anara Bayanova. She won via second-round TKO followed by 2 additional fights at WXF X-Impact World Championships to get a 3-0 record. Shevchenko took a short break from MMA and devoted her time to kickboxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 with Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko defeated Anissa with a unanimous win. She was able to beat Valerie Domergue during Phoenix FC 4. The promotion ended in 2018 and joined Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko took on Jaimelene Nievera as part of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series. Antonina's formidable strike abilities let her TKO Nievera via knees in the lower body. Antonina's UFC contract was renewed in the wake of this win. Antonina Shevchenko debuted in UFC at the TUF Finals TUF Heavy Hitting fight against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko was defeated by Roxanne modafferi by split decision, after winning her debut fight. Antonina rebounded from her loss to knock out Lucie Pudilova via rear-naked choking submission in the second round at UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the bonus fight of the night for this fight. Shevchenko went 1-2 over the next three fights beating Ariane Lipski and losing to Katlyn Chookagian and Andrea Lee.
